Caring for the main structure
Leaves and garden debris will naturally fall around the exterior of your garden room over time. This is why we recommend clearing up the surrounding area of your garden building at least twice a year. Once a year (the perfect time for this would be late spring or summer) remove the cushions and blinds and supply our specially developed wood preserver using a soft brush or cloth. Before putting back the soft furnishings ensure enough time for the structure to dry off, this should take 2 to 4 days depending on the weather.
Maintaining thatch or cedar tiled roof
Naturally over time thatch will 'moult' at a rate dependent on the climatic conditions of your garden. Exposure to weather and other factors such as wildlife could have an impact on the 'moulting.' However, this is a natural process for thatch roofs and therefore no maintenance is needed. Cedar tiled roofs however do require some maintenance. On these roofs moss will naturally form over time. This should be removed every few months to allow the tiles to dry.
Maintaining Cushions, Blinds and Soft Furnishings
As well as maintaining the outside of your luxury garden building, there are also things you can do to keep the interior looking luxurious for years to come. For cleaning and maintaining cushions, we recommend using RENOVO Boat Marine Canvas Cleaner and applying waterproofing products. This should be used on cushion covers on a regular basis. Use a soft brush or sponge with soapy water (no warmer than 30C) to clean off any loose dirt from both blinds and cushions. Cushion covers can even be washed on a gentle 30 degree cycle, but must not be tumble dried and instead be left to dry naturally before putting back in place.
